Once upon a time, we all had a dream... A dream which felt so achievable... A dream of which we swore we would turn into reality… So many sleepless nights were spent and unknown emotions felt imagining how it would feel when we will finally live our dream! But Boom..! It did not turn out as we have thought it would... That dream couldn’t be achieved! And now it pains every time we think of it or anybody mentions it… Is this the End? Or there is something even better waiting for us….
Whether it is work, ambition our relationships, we all face
failures at some point of time. At that moment it feels as if everything is
finished and nothing will be able to make it better. But there are some ways we
could pick our shattered soul and direct it to the path of healing. Let us see
how we can do it…
vAccept the Reality: The very first step to deal with failure is to accept the
reality and acknowledge the fact that the dream we were working on did not turn
out as per our expectations. The more delay we do in accepting the truth, the
more pain it will cause!
vAllow yourself to feel bad: It’s okay if you feel bad for some time, let it be. Embrace your
emotions in a positive way. Let your emotions vent out in a healthy way.
vPractice healthy coping skills: Vent out your emotions and
negativity about the experience. Either write it down, or let yourself cry for
some time, play with your pet, engage in some hobby or simply talk it out to a
close friend. You will be amazed how better you will feel after letting it all
go…
vBeware of negative emotions/ habits: It is very easy to get influenced by negativity when going
through a bad phase in life…. Check the negative thoughts if any and refrain
from indulging in addictive habits such a smoking or drinking. Immediately
break the negative chain of thoughts when it occurs!
vNever form negative beliefs about yourself: “I always fail”;
“I can never achieve anything in life”; “I am a failure”; Never use such
negative phrases for yourself and never try to believe in it. One failure or
mistake doesn’t mean that you cannot achieve big in life. Remember! It’s just a
bad experience, not a bad life!
vIndulge in positivity: Whether it is reading motivational books or watching movies, try to
indulge in positive materials. It will change your state if mind to a great
extent. Also, indulge in positive talks with yourself. Remind yourself that you
have all the skills it takes to achieve big.
vLearn from your mistakes and try to move on: Lastly try to
retrospect your mistakes and learn from it. After you finally know what went
wrong, chalk out new plans for yourself and start working on it!
Conclusion:
We all face issues in life and make mistakes. It is almost an
inevitable event in one’s life. Everybody faces failures but we have to learn
how to deal with it and that’s what makes all the difference in life!
